Let'z Talk

I did the thing...even though no one was watching.

goals habits Oct 15, 2026

I have been working on launching a signature program for over a year. But I had stalled because I was letting the fear of failure get in my way. Thoughts like:

- No one will want it.

- Who am I to tell people about cooking and eating healthy.

- I don't have time.

You get the picture. All from the voice in my head that wants me to play small; the part of me who wants to keep me safe.

However, if I want to help others to find their de-stressed path to eating healthy, home-cooked meals and ditch the overwhelm of mealtime and over-processed foods, then now is the time. No more waiting on the sidelines, or for someone to give me permission.

I started this journey because I want to help people; to make a difference. That goal was not going to be achieved sitting back, afraid to take the next step.

The first thing I needed to do was flip my hesitation and disprove my thoughts holding me back.

Myth #1: People won't want it.

I know people want it. When I chat with people casually they get excited about the idea. Who does not want to make mealtime easier and bring joy into the kitchen and regenerate their relationship with real food.

Myth #2: I don't know enough about food and nutrition.

I cooked professionally for over 20 years, taught cooking classes, and have had college level nutrition and clinical nutrition courses, along with being a certified personal trainer and life coach. I have enough knowledge and skill to begin sharing that with others.

Myth #3: I don't have time.

This one is so easy to submit to. I have a full-time job, and I have many hobbies. But I have down-time where I waste my time doom-scrolling or watching some mindless digital entertainment. What if I used a little of this time for working one my passion project.  I love getting up in the morning, sip my mushroom coffee and enjoy creating. Why not use this creative energy to chip away at my program content.

So armed with these new positive thoughts, I began.

I created a free masterclass called Ditch the Mealtime Overwhelm to give 3 actionable steps to take right away to make positive change in how one can approach mealtime and make mealtime less hectic. This class is the lead in to my 8-week signature program Mindful Meals Mastery.

I had 15 people sign up for the first masterclass. I was elated to present the material.

I sent the reminder emails.

I made sure I was ready the day of to present smoothly at 7pm.

Then....no one showed. Being ghosted in October is not so bad I thought.

At 7:05pm I had two choice to make.

1. Shut down and go do something for me, feeling dejected and unsuccessful.

or

2. Hit the record button anyway and practice the material as if I had an audience. This would give me material I can send to all the people who likely got busy because 7pm on a Wednesday night is probably not the best time to hold a session. I had promised the session would be recorded and sent to those who could not make it.

I chose number two. Was it easy? No. But I felt successful afterward, and I made forward progress.

I preach about progress over perfection in my program and coaching. I should practice what I preach.

How about you?

Have you ever gotten close to a goal and things became hard? Or they did not end as you planned? Another roadblock in the way?

What did you do?

I would love to hear about it. Send me a note

If you are feeling stuck and want to get help moving forward with toward your next goal, book a free 1:1 coaching session. You will come away with real steps to take toward that life goal, Promise!

I did the thing, and I was left wondering....So what should I do next?

I should keep going, keep trying, and so I have another Free Masterclass scheduled for Nov. 1 at 4PM EDT. This is a Sunday, and perhaps a better time for people to Zoom in for a masterclass. But even if no one comes, I will hit that record button and do it anyway.

Practice moves the needle toward mastery, and it is what I teach in my program. I will walk my talk. Someday, I will have people who I can help find their passion.

You don't have to figure it all out at once.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by food, cooking, or creating healthier habits, start with the option that feels most manageable right now.

Maybe thats a 30-minute free discovery call.
